A word about “food security” - there are plenty of other sites and organizations dealing with this vast and political subject. Our mandate is to give you the tools to grow some food.
Growing food isn’t a new idea. Up until about 60 years ago, with the advent of refrigeration (in homes and also transport vehicles), almost every household raised at least some of their own food. Canadians of Asian, Greek or Italian extraction (and many others as well) regularly devote a significant portion of their growing areas to food.
