She writes and edits seed catalogues, contributes regularly to GardenWise, and was a West Coast correspondent for Gardening Life magazine (now defunct).

Sharon created the garden at Queen Alexandra Elementary in 2002.

In 2006 Sharon received the Mayor’s Award for Environmental Excellence.

Karen Hodgson

Karen’s love of planet earth led her down the gardening path. With a background in marketing environmental programs, she volunteered at UBC Farm and met Sharon while volunteering at the Queen Alexandra School food garden. Karen is living proof that even a novice gardener can enjoy the fruits or veggies of her success the first season.
